OLTREPÒ APPELLATION

History of Wine

It is uncertain who originally imported the vine into the Oltrepò region. Some scholars believe that the restless Aryan populations from Armenia, Georgia and Mesopotamia, who migrated by sea and river and finally established a stable settlement here. However, the clearest evidence of the presence of vines in Oltrepò dates back to 1876 (source Bulletin of the Vogherese Agricultural Committee), when the discovery of a 25x6cm “caràsa”, a fossilized vine trunk, was found near Casteggio (Clastidium).

Wines

With 33 hectares of their own for wine production, today the Vanzini family has more than 15 labels in its product portfolio. By researching and studying the bottles, we have refined them to guarantee a diversification of our products not only in the type of wines, but also in the format and shape of the bottles, and also in the design of the labels.

Company

Today the winery is run by the Vanzini siblings Antonio, Pier Paolo and Michela, who work together to maintain the company’s long-standing tradition of quality. Their commitment to sustainable projects and organic crops is also strong, aimed at safeguarding the environment.

Awards

Over the years, we have worked to grow our international presence, thus growing more and more. We have participated in national and international events where we have obtained numerous awards, which have allowed us to grow making the Vanzini brand even more recognizable.
